The Threshold Of The Nephilim

Gender Equality and empowerment of women was first established at global level in the United Nations Charter in 1945 which declared faith “in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women…”

The U.N. has played a significant role, particularly in the promotion and protection of the human rights of women. The General Assembly also addresses gender equality issues, in particular the human rights of women, including violence against women.

Unfortunately, Kini, a United States detainee and statistic barely surviving in abject poverty, has not been given the systematic and sustained priority attention needed to achieve goals set in the United Nations Charter.

She lacks the most basic reproductive health care; women-specific health needs, limited access to education, lack of employment opportunities, and other priorities have gone unaddressed.

Freedom from fear of violence, responsibility for paid employment, and the joys of leisure are not being sustained on the social development level.

The under-representation of Kini in decision-making in all areas and at all levels; the continuation of discriminatory laws governing marriage, land, property and inheritance, the ignored omissions, and failure to enforce basic fundamental rights are continuing to disproportionately affect Kini through poverty, degradation, humiliation, disrespect. Other devastating effects have made it unbearable to participate in political and public life.

Women bear the development costs of inequality which not only impact negatively on women themselves, but also on families and communities. As a result of discriminatory attitudes and practices and lack of attention to promote gender inequality and in order to protect male privileges, there are significant costs for society.Let us read in Judges 19:23-30:

23 And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, “Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly.

24 Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you; but unto this man do not so vile a thing.”

25 But the men would not hearken to him; so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.

26 Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her lord was, till it was light.

27 And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold.

28 And he said unto her, “Up, and let us be going.” But none answered . Then the man took her up upon an ass and the man rose up, and gat him unto his place. 29 And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel.

30 And it was so, that all that saw it said, “There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.” Judges 19:23-30

The Federal Judges of the United States are not ignorant to this tale. And, as they sit back, flout the law, watch the finality unravel  while watching the Spirit of the Law rape the living daylights out of Kini, they may think that Kini is going to fall over dead at the threshold. Unfortunately for the People that will not be the case. Stayed tuned the foreseeable events leading up to the next case of “Excessive Force”.
